ABOUT JUVENTUD ODO

And don’t let anyone put you down because you’re young. Teach believers with your life: by word, by demeanor, by love, by faith, by integrity. Stay at your post reading Scripture, giving counsel, teaching. And that special gift of ministry you were given when the leaders of the church laid hands on you and prayed—keep that dusted off and in use. 1 Tim 4:12

MISSION AND HISTORY

The congregation " Obra de Orange " was born in the summer of 1989 in the City of Orange, Orange County , almost in the suburbs of Los Angeles in southern California in the United States. The Church Work Orange originally emerged as part of an English-speaking American church called " Orange Covenant Church " ( Orange Covenant Church ) , which is associated with the name known as " Evangelical Covenant Church of America" ( Church the Evangelical Covenant of America " ) . This denomination has churches in Mexico, Guatemala and Colombia , and is known in Latin America as The Church of the " Evangelical Covenant " . Obra de Orange, was formed in the city of Orange, California, as a response to the Anglo -speaking Church " Orange Covenant Church " and its pastor Rev. Donald Bowers then , the growing Hispanic population began to flood Orange County in the early '80s the Pastor Bowers asked for help to the only Hispanic family that was in his congregation 's family who is now the pastor Andy Zamora. What the pastor wanted was Bowers : That " Orange Covenant Church " could have a " Hispanic ministry " to work with the growing Hispanic population began to crowd the streets of the city. Putting to work those Hispanic human resources who spoke Spanish in the same congregation, Pastor Bowers used   the expertise of Andy Zamora , who had served as leader of the Indigenous communities of Costa Rica , in Central America, for which he had worked for many years as Executive Director of " CONAI " National Commission on Indigenous Affairs (The National Commission of Indian Affairs ) . And God blessed the "vision" . Within six months of the Spanish project that the English-speaking congregation was called "One in the Spirit" began, the Society of Orange was no longer a "project" and had become " Church Work of Orange (Obra de orange)" . The church began with only 6 people , and even today the regular attendance of Sunday worship is about 900 people , we know that Obra de Orange continues to grow, and expand the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our Youth ministry began to be formed in the year 2007, however in 2009 our current Youth Leader/Worship Director, Alex Zamora and his wife, Caroline Zamora. They began to develop a strong unity within our youth, and have transformed our group in a group into a group of young priests of God, who love Him, and seek to transcend that love to others.
